Gabrielle's Wish

Despite living with craniopharyngioma, a rare type of brain tumor, Gabrielle lives like any other sixteen-year-old girl. If she’s not at school or hanging out with her friends, you can most likely find her in the dance studio where she practices 4 different types of dance: tap, highland, Irish and ballet. Gabrielle’s wish was to escape her hectic schedule and travel to Tokyo, Japan with her mom to spend some quality time together. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, her dream came true!

Gabrielle had a spring break that she will never forget. Their tour guide was extremely helpful and always made sure that they were accommodated; always giving them directions and suggestions of where to go and what to do and see. Since Gabrielle has already traveled to both North American Disney parks, she couldn’t wait to spend the day with her mom checking out Tokyo Disney! It was a lot different than they both had imagined. One of the first things that Gabrielle noticed was that the locals at Tokyo Disney were all dressed up and matching in big groups of people! Despite the long line-ups, Gabrielle and her mom took advantage of the FastPass service and tried to go on all the rides that North American Disney doesn’t have.

Gabrielle’s week in Tokyo flew by, and she would love to go back again. Tokyo was very urbanized and she would definitely love to go back and see more of Japan as well. Her one regret is not going into a Japanese clothing store- hopefully she will go back and do just that!
