  • World Wish Day®

On April 29th, World Wish Day, a global celebration, commemorates the first wish that inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish®. Every year, individuals across the country and around the world get involved and support World Wish Day activities and events.

In 2018, Make-A-Wish earned a Guinness World Record acheivement, and was named the Largest wish-granting non-profit organization in the world. Since the creation of the organization in 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted nearly 450,000 wishes to children with critical illnesses around the world.

World Wish day illustrates the imperative role a wish plays in a child's medical treatment. Research shows a wish can help kids build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.
