About the Organization:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Alberta is a dynamic wish-granting organization that brings hope, strength and joy to children living with critical illnesses. We serve the northern part of Alberta and work closely with Make-A-Wish® chapters around the world to assist them with wishes they have taking place in our territory. Beginning in 1998, the Northern Alberta Chapter has granted over 1200 wishes.

Along with the national office, eight regional chapters grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish® Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 480,000 children since 1980.

Events Coordinator (20 hours per week – Contract role ending on or before September 30, 2020 with an excellent chance for renewal)

As part of the development team you will oversee internal and external event management activities. This includes planning and executing a wide variety of events (Golf Classic, Donor, Stewardship and Cultivation events etc.), event day logistics, assisting with meeting fundraising goals, and a continued focus on process improvement, analysis and reporting.

 As an event professional you will have direct experience planning and executing fundraising events from conception, to production, to onsite oversight. By nature, you will be creative, and an excellent problem solver combined with high energy and flexibility in working in a variety of environments with a diverse volunteer base. Preference will be given to individuals who have worked in the nonprofit sector and have been involved specifically in creating and delivering fundraising events.

You will require a related degree or diploma and two to three years of related event management experience. Strong and thorough knowledge of PC Software:  Internet, E-mail, Microsoft Office Products, Social Media Platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) is also required. Experience with computer database management (i.e. Salesforce) is an asset.
