About the Organization:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Alberta is a dynamic wish-granting organization that brings hope, strength and joy to children living with critical illnesses. We serve the northern part of Alberta and work closely with Make-A-Wish® chapters around the world to assist them with wishes they have taking place in our territory. Beginning in 1998, the Northern Alberta Chapter has granted over 1200 wishes.

Along with the national office, eight regional chapters grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish® Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 480,000 children since 1980.

Development Coordinator (20 hours per week – Contract role ending on or before September 30, 2020 with an excellent chance for renewal)

Are you resourceful, creative and a highly organized individual who focuses on results and truly want to make a difference in the lives of children? Do you understand the importance of fund development and do you enjoy establishing relationships to ensure the ongoing success of charities by helping other organizations or individuals give back to their community in a profound way?

In this role you will work closely with the development team in supporting a variety of development opportunities ranging from working with community groups and supporting and facilitating programs like the Adopt-A-Wish Program, Kids for Wish Kids, and the young Professional Advisory Council just to name a few. In addition, you will develop dynamic relationships with individual donors and create and implement individual giving strategies.

If you are a solid communicator with strong oral and written skills with an emphasis on proposal development and presentations and have exceptional organizational and relationship skills, we are interested in speaking to you. Your experience will exemplify both your creative ability and strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to a collaborative and inclusive approach to decision-making.

You will require a related degree or diploma and two to three years of related fund development experience. Strong and thorough knowledge of PC Software:  Internet, E-mail, Microsoft Office Products, Social Media Platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) is also required. Experience with computer database management (i.e. Salesforce) is an asset.
